Club Monaco, a high-end international contemporary lifestyle brand owned by Polo Ralph Lauren, has signed a retainer with Thunder Communications in Shanghai. Thunder, a subsidiary of Ruder Finn, will provide strategic counsel and media communication to enhance Club Monaco brand awareness through offline and online media channels in China.
Club Monaco has 20 stores in China covering the different tier cities and targeting consumers aged 20 to 40 years. The most recent store to open in China was in Shanghai IAPM mall this month. The recent grand opening of Club Monaco’s new flagship store on 5th avenue, New York, USA caught the attention of the media.. Club Monaco will also leverage their globally known and popular ‘Culture Club’, a visual collective from the people behind Club Monaco, as well as contributions by photographers. The site continuously displays amazing imagery from the inspiration boards of their designers.
Club Monaco entered Greater China in 2005 with its first retail store in Hong Kong, which was also its international debut. In 2007, Club Monaco launched its first mainland China store in Beijing, and the popular urban casual style has since earned Club Monaco countless loyal customers. The brand’s popularity can be seen in the 2013 success movie, Tiny Times, with leading actress Yang Mi wearing Club Monaco’s products throughout.
Tracy tong, CEO of Thunder Communications said: "We are delighted to have Club Monaco as our retainer client. Club Monaco is a popular brand embraced by cool people and a great win for us. We consider this a great chance for our team to prove their outstanding media communication skills as well as demonstrating our expertise as a branding consultancy."
Founded in Toronto in 1985, Club Monaco is an international lifestyle brand that offers affordable luxury with a modern sensibility. In 1999, the company was bought by Polo Ralph Lauren.
