2012-08-01
Singapore. Ruder Finn Asia was appointed the official PR agency for the inaugural Global Green Economic Forum 2014 held in Singapore on September 3. This year's theme, 'Building a Sustainable Eco-system for Business', focused on finding actionable solutions to build a sustainable economy. The Forum attracted more than 200 key decision makers, environmentalists, academics and policy planners. They discussed the issues and challenges to bridging the gap between sustainability practices and business. Delegates were given invaluable insights on implementing sustainability practices, staying sustainable despite rapidly changing the economic environment, ways in which to better engage their employees on sustainability and a specific country study on how Chinese companies handle their CSR strategies and practices.
Ruder Finn secured key coverage of the event, including in regional Tier 1 media Channel NewsAsia and a BBC NewDay’s one-on-one interview with Mr Robert Swan OBE, a well-known environmental leader and the first person to walk to both the North and South Poles. Other speakers included Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for Environment and Water Resources; Mr. Abid Butt, CEO of Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts; Mr. Goh Chee Kiong, Executive Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board; and Ms. Patricia Gallardo Dwyer, Director of CSR at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. Ruder Finn Asia Chairman, Jean-Michel Dumont, also addressed the forum.
