RF Thunder wins PR retainer with Korean Luxury Skincare and Make-up Brand, The History of Whoo
Shanghai. RF Thunder, sister company of Ruder Finn Asia, which is one of the top three international public relations agencies in China, has signed a one-year retainer, plus projects, with Korean luxury brand, The History of Whoo. RF Thunder won the pitch against international and local agencies and will provide strategic counsel, media communication and event management.
The History of Whoo, a popular, high-end Korean cosmetics brand, fuses eastern medicine ingredients with the latest skincare technology for its collection of skincare and makeup for women to help minimize the effects of skin aging. The brand embodies regal beauty through the use of traditional Korean royal beauty secrets with tasteful and minimalist packaging. The History of Whoo has more than 100 counters throughout China.
The History of Whoo was launched in mainland China in 2006, by LG Household & Healthcare Group, a major South Korean personal care and cosmetics producer. LG is the second largest cosmetics firm in the country and also distributes other brands including TheFaceShop, OHUI and so on.
RF Thunder was chosen for its extensive experience and expertise in cosmetics and its greater China network. RF Thunder, formerly Thunder Communications, was established in Shanghai in 2001 and was acquired by Ruder Finn in 2011. Its rapid growth has been exponential over recent years with the establishment of offices in Guangzhou in 2013 followed by Hong Kong in January 2015 and the soon to be established Beijing office. RF Thunder saw a 200 per cent business growth and 33 percent staff increase in 2014.
