Jean-Michel Dumont Receives Sabre’s Individual Achievement Award 2016

Hong Kong. Jean-Michel Dumont, Chairman of Ruder Finn Asia, was honored with the prestigious The Holmes Report’s Individual Achievement Award at the SABRE Asia Pacific Awards ceremony in Hong Kong. The award celebrates his 30 years career of public relations in Asia.

The Holmes Report : “Serving initially as a consultant for pioneering Asian public relations firm Interasia (opening its Beijing office) and later as general manager for Edelman, before joining Ruder Finn in 2001 as the New York firm embarked upon its international expansion.

In the 15 years since then, he has built Ruder Finn into one of the leading multinational agencies in China, well known and well regarded for its expertise in the automotive, luxury goods, and broader consumer lifestyle categories, and over the past five years has opened three additional offices in Asia, building Ruder Finn into an impressive regional player.

That track record makes him a worthy recipient of one of our coveted SABRE Awards for outstanding Individual Achievement.”

Kathy Bloomgarden, CEO of Ruder Finn Inc.:
“15 years ago, I asked one of my dear friends, who was head of the WSJ bureau in Shanghai, who the best PR person in China was. He answered in a second: Jean-Michel Dumont. I knew, from that moment, that JMD had to join us. His outstanding efforts are being recognized and rewarded externally once more. JMD joined Ruder Finn China in 2001, when it had just 10 people, two offices and three clients. Thanks to his leadership and the amazing teams he built, we now have eight offices in Asia, with a staff of over 350 people, and boasting some of the biggest brands in the world. Jean-Michel is truly a powerhouse within our agency and the industry”

In 2015, Jean Michel secured the coveted Public Affairs Asia’s Gold Standard Award for Professional Excellence. In the same year, the agency also won Sabre’s Consumer Consultancy of Asia-Pacific, PRWeek’s Greater China PR Consultancy of the Year, UK’s AI Sector Performance Awards for PR Agency of the Year and China PR Agency of the Year; UK’s Marketing, PR & Communications Awards for Best Global PR Agency – Asia Pacific and Innovation in Global Communications – Asia Pacific.
