October 12, 2009

Ruder Finn has been appointed by BusinessWeek, a global publications market leader, as their PR Agency partner for the highly reputable and prestigious 2009 CEO Forum. The annual BusinessWeek’s CEO Forum, in its 13th consecutive year, will be held in Beijing on 19th & 20th November.

The CEO Forumis the leading platform for business and thought leaders to explore new developments on the CEO’s agenda in Asia. The Forum focuses on emerging strategic priorities, innovative business practices and the evolving role of the chief executive. Besides being the CEO Forum’s PR partner, Ruder Finn will also be Associate Event partner which will include speakers and delegates invitation and liaison, and developing program materials.

“I’m excited with the appointment of Ruder Finn as the PR agency partner for our upcoming CEO Forum in Beijing. I believe our partnership creates synergy between two companies with a wide global network among thought leaders and business decision makers” said Christina Lee, Asia Managing Director of BusinessWeek.

“At a time of economic uncertainty, the CEO Forum offers a great opportunity for major corporations to showcase how they are leading their industries towards economic recovery,” said Jean Michel Dumont, Ruder Finn Asia’s Chairman. “Ruder Finn is proud to be associated with such a prestigious event.”

The 2009 CEO Forum’s theme is Post-recession World Economy & China, focusing on China and the post-recession global economy. The economic implosion that started in the U.S. as a contained financial tremor which eventually morphed into a global economic contraction on a scale not seen since the 1930s has made China’s economic achievement of the past year stand out all the more. The central government compensated for the troubles of the export sector by developing the interior even further and by stimulating the domestic economy. This resulted is growth in 2009 and the emergence of China as a great power seems to be accelerating much faster than predicted.

In the past decade, BusinessWeek’s CEO Forum has brought together over 15,000 business leaders from Asia, the USA, the Middle East, and other parts of the world. Some high level profiles include Tony Blair, Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; Bill Clinton, Former President of the United States; Zeng Peiyan, Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China; Wang Jianzhou, Chairman and CEO, China Mobile; Niklas Zennström, CEO and Co-Founder, Skype; Ma Xiuhong, Vice-Minister, Ministry of Commerce, People’s Republic of China;Paul Volcker, Former Chairman of the US Federal Reserve; Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad,Former Prime Minister of Malaysia, and many more.
