The Novartis Institute for Tropical Diseases (NITD) is dedicated to finding new medicines to treat neglected, infectious diseases. A small-molecule drug discovery research institute, NITD combines the drug-discovery expertise and cutting-edge technology of Novartis to fight infectious tropical diseases. About the AccountIn 2007, Ruder Finn Asia conducted a full-scale, globally-focused media program in tandem with the launch of a partnership between NITD and Indonesia-based Eijkman Institute and Hasanuddin University (NEHCRI) in 2007 where journalists from eight international markets attended. Ruder Finn Asia also managed a media program in conjunction with a scientific symposium in July 2004. Media attendance at NITD was a resounding success: nearly 60 journalists from 19 international markets at the media workshop, and more than 70 journalists, photographers and camera crewmembers witnessed NITD opening ceremony. Some 178 articles in 118 media outlets in 19 markets around the world were achieved. Ruder Finn Asia continues to conduct media relations at NITD headquarters at Biopolis to build relationships and to educate business leaders, key scientists, NGOs and journalists to position Novartis as a leader in socially responsible research. |
