EDB BIO

The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) Biomedical Sciences group is responsible for building the nation's global presence as the biomedical sciences hub in Asia.  The EDB aims to attract biomedical talent, companies and investment capital to Singapore.  Core to their global awareness plan is a presence at the BIO annual convention in the US, which is the leading global trade fair and exhibition for the biomedical sciences.  It brings together more than 10,000 leading researchers, investors and companies from around the world for the three day fair.

About the Account

Ruder Finn has been EDB’s agency of choice for all its communications activities at the BIO events in the US since 2004. The agency’s Singapore team has always worked in collaboration with its US Ruder Finn counterparts to maximize outreach to key US business and trade media. At BIO 2008, Ruder Finn set up a total of nine one-on-one on-site media interviews for EDB (including A*STAR) executives with The Economist, Nikkei Biotechnology, Fierce Biotech, Elsevier/EDC Reports (The Pink Sheet/PharmAsia News), The Scientist, The Journal of Life Sciences, Science, GenomeWeb and Biosynergy.
