ProjectVolkswagen Group China (VGC) is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, Germany's largest automotive manufacturing group, in the People's Republic of China. Volkswagen has been active in China since 1984. Today, the group has 13 representative companies in the country, undertaking parts delivery and service provision for both customers and industry in addition to vehicle production. Volkswagen Group enjoys sales of about 18% (2007) of the Chinese market and is the largest foreign carmaker. The Chinese market is one of the main markets of the Group. Operations of Volkswagen in China include the production, sales and services of whole cars, parts and components, engines and transmission systems. The company's locally manufactured and imported vehicles are sold under various brand names such as Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Bentley, and Lamborghini in China. ObjectivesRFA started services for Volkswagen Group China in 2006 and provides integrated communications, strategy and messaging, media relations, issues and crisis management, media training, product launches and CSR programs. Project highlights have included the Corporate Strategy 2018 launch, the branding opportunity provided by the 2008 Beijing Auto Show and the Guangzhou Auto Show 2008, product launch through the Touareg W12 launch and media test drive, an ePR project involving an on-line road safety promotion and the CSR project Green Future. The account has subsequently been extended to Hong Kong. |
