Ullens Center for Contemporary Art

Ullens Center for Contemporary Art
Project

Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) is a non profit, comprehensive art center founded in Beijing by collectors Guy and Myriam Ullens in November 2007. UCCA presents exhibitions of established and emerging artists and develops a trusted platform to share knowledge through education and research.

Objectives

Ruder Finn Asia managed media relations in Asia Pacific, excluding China, for the opening of the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing. This was part of a global Ruder Finn programme that was spearheaded by Ruder Finn Arts & Communications Counsellors in New York and Ruder Finn Beijing.

The consultancy leveraged on the art world’s interest in contemporary Chinese art and UCCA’s opening exhibition of seminal works produced in the 1980s, a revolutionary period in Chinese art history, to position UCCA as the most comprehensive contemporary art institution in China

In addition to release distribution and pitching, Ruder Finn Asia secured the attendance of 10 key media from Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan to the media preview and opening ceremony.  The result was 16 articles from hosted media and 34 articles in total on UCCA from the Asia Pacific outreach.
